This image was created for the CARNIVORA art show and book by Les Barany. It's based on a 3D rendering of a future city, but I spent two weeks in Photoshop to replace almost every pixel of the 3D rendering with 2D elements taken from photos, so I decided to put it in the 2D section. Here you can download a making-of-PDF: http://www.framebox.de/creations/3d/blowout/index.htm. The art show will premiere in Detroits cPop-Gallery on January 12. The book will be released in spring 2008.

this is my latest rendering, a tribute to H.R. Giger and Giuseppe Arcimboldo. I modelled and textured all the vegetables in 3ds max, rendered with the good old scanline renderer in various passes and did the postwork in photoshop. The original resolution is 3000x2500 pixel.

This is my "strange behaviour" entry, you can find all the details and WIP steps here: http://forums.cgsociety.org/showthr...threadid=524220

This is the little story of the bumblebee Bernard who wanted to impress his friends with an experiment. It was one of these boring days and they were as usual looking for some nonsense to get involved in and succeeded in switching on an electric shaver. And Bernard, for the first time in his life, completely freed himself from his beautiful yellow and black fur. But then, under the shouting and cheering of his mischievous friends, he watched in the mirror and had to recognize that the result didn`t please him as much as he expected. But hey, so what, it will grow again....

This idea came while I was driving through a tower block neighbourhood. Somehow I always considered satellite dishes to be something beautiful since I was a child. To avoid any misunderstandings: The underlyling building and the environment is not computer generated, it's a photo. The satellite dishes are all 3D. The image was made with 3ds max 8 and Photoshop. Is the TV media overgrowing the building like a disease or is the mankind barricading from real life? Maybe it's both...
The design should more be a mixture of a rocket, a tank and a jet and it is ment to be settled more in the world of cartoon than in our physical limits. Rendered with the 3ds max standard scanline renderer. I'm looking forward to read what you think about it...
